We are also going to tell you how to send emails without showing all the addresses, since in the end these two fields can be used to send massive copies of an email hiding or showing the addresses of the rest of the people who are going to receive it. In the screenshots we will focus on Gmail and Outlook, but this can be used in any email client.
Let’s start by explaining the three concepts that you will encounter when sending an email. When you start the process of sending an email in Gmail, Outlook or any other email client, you will always see the To field in which to enter the sender(s) address(es). But you will also always see the options to activate the CC and BCC. Here is what each of the concepts means when sending the email
Once you have activated the CC field, the BCC field or both, you can start deciding which recipients you can add and which you cannot. There must always be a recipient, but it does not have to be the one in the To field. This means that, for example, you can use only the Bcc field if you want to send a mass mailing without anyone knowing the addresses of the other people who have received it.
How to send personalized mass mailings in gmail
Mail messages can have three different types of recipients. The simplest is to put the email address in the To: text field. The CC: text field is used for recipients to whom you want to send a copy but who are not the main recipients.
The addresses in the Bcc: list are hidden from the other recipients of the message. You can use it to send mailings to large groups of people especially if they do not know each other or if it is important to maintain privacy. If the Bcc: field is not in view click View ▸ Bcc field.
Instead of typing the names of the recipients, you can press the To:, Cc:, or CCo: buttons to get a list of the corre-e addresses in their address books. Select the addresses and press the arrow buttons to move them to the appropriate address columns (To:, Cc:, CCo:).
How to send mass mailings from gmail

Whenever you are going to send an email to several recipients, you must be careful to include their addresses in the box “With blind copy” (Bcc).
